Marinated Rib-Eye
Perfection
This may be (strike that) IS the best Rib-Eye steak I have ever had. And, I have been everywhere, and had some good ones. Watch the movie on Tom's web site.

I thought I would take my 1st ride of 2010 today, but it was cold here. About 45F, but 90% humidity that just went right through you.
Oh well, I'll be here for a few more days.

Android? iPhone?
Got moo? Nope, I didn't think so.
If you know what this means, you already know. If not, the explanation would just be too long.

Bringing a spare
Weekend motofun! While in Texas!
I am glad I replaced my Ruckus that was stolen last year. Now, in the Winter, when it is too cold to actually ride some where warm, I can bring something two wheeled with me. Texas, or at least Houston is not scooter friendly because they drive 70 even on the side streets. I can however go down to Galveston Island on the weekend, and ride the 18 miles of sea wall on the Ruckus.

Pizza 4 U
Happy? Everybody?
Ok, I have to explain this one. First, Pizza 4 U just isn't that good. It's OK, but no more. I happened to mention on Facebook that I ordered a pizza, and as most of you are familiar I take a lot of food pics. I really only try to take food pics that are good, or interesting, or are from some of my road food spots. Anyway, since I mentioned I had ordered a pizza, and since I now have a food pic following on Facebook, I took this picture. Ugh!

Back in Civilization
Falafel instead of BBQ
One would never expect good food in a mall food court. This place is an exception. Great lamb stew, Kabobs are superb, dill rice is perfect.
I wish this guy had a "real" resturant, but until then at least there is somewhere in Joliet for get good mid Eastern food, even if it is in the mall.

Illinois
On my way home
I have been roaming around the Southwest and I carry my little FNP-9 in a Maxpedition Versapack Jumbo. I have both PA and UT permits, and except for California, I have been traveling in "free states".
I am driving up I-57 in MO, and am about to cross the bridge into Illinois, when I think to myself .... Oh S&^t, I have a loaded weapon with me. I am reaching around behind the seat, grab the bag, pull the piece out, pop the clip, put it back and put the clip in the front zippered flap (nothing up the pipe) just as I get to the Illinois State Line.
As soon as I am off the bridge, there are about 7 or 8 Illinois State Troopers lined up along the road, with a few more up the highway with cars pulled over. It must have been some kind of blanket enforcement training or something.
I was not stopped, but thinking about it, I almost became a felon. Handcuffs, jail, loss of FOID card, legal fees. Something is really wrong, when in most of the country, a thing is fine, then cross a bridge and it is no small matter, but you become a dangerous felon. When I was in Southern Arizona the week before, I noticed several guys in the coffee shop with holsters, and pistols having breakfast. And by the warn looks of them, you could tell this was just like any other day for years and years.
It is time for a License to Carry law in Illinois. Past time. I will be at iGold. I will do what I can.
You know you're in South when...
Hope, AR
As one of my friends on Facebook aptly said, "instant heartburn".

I love finding Road Food places. This was pretty good. On US 59 about 40 miles South of Texarkana.

Coopers BBQ 1
Junction TX
Coopers BBQ 2
Junction TX
I have been to this BBQ about 1/2 a dozen times. Superb. The BBQ sauce is the thin vinegar based they you would expect in West Texas, and not the syrup like KC stuff.
If you are on I-10, and near Junction Texas. Stop. You will remember this place.
